Personalisation for carers

As you may know, under the new ‘Personalisation Agenda’ there are changes to the way people receive care is changing. This is sometimes referred to as SELF DIRECTED SUPPORT.
Self Directed Support is the way in which people who need social care support can receive their services. Not to be confused with welfare benefits, Self Directed Support enables people to be able to have choice and control over the care services they get to enable them to live a more independent and fulfilling life.

It’s not about you getting what your given, it’s about you getting care that meets your needs.

BROKERAGE
People who have support needs, whether they are eligible for social care services or not, are able to get help to choose the best services for them. This is called Brokerage. Brokers are people that help you find and buy the right services.

There are lots of types of support to choose from in Leicestershire, and the idea of choosing between them, and making the right decisions, can be quite daunting.

To help us to understand how this could work for you, Tony Nottingham is now running some free workshops in Hinckley and Melton Mowbray and I would encourage you to attend to find out more.
